This past Sunday morning I woke up to icey-cold weather with a mix of miserable rainy skies, luckily for me my little sister had hooked us up with killer all access VIP seats and passes to the circus. I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend a rain day then with my family under the warm, cozy comfort’s of a big tent and I don’t mean the camping type of tent..(girls like me do not do camp..we only do couture) this was the big top tent of Cirque de Soliel’s newest creative creation show called OVO!
Let me start by saying this..it should be illegal for girls in latex leotards to be allowed to contort themselves into the positions these girls tangled themselves into.Put it this way, they make the Kama-Sutra look Kosher! Once I managed to look passed my boyfriends deer- in- headlights expression I was able to really enjoy the show. It was funny, entertaining and fantastical. The costumes were beyond incredible and the characters..cute as buttons (and ridiculously in shape)!
If your an avid Cirque de Soliel fan like myself you will definitely recognize similar talent in OVO from previous Cirque de Soliel shows such as Aqua and Alegria. However it’s definitely worth the trip to Randall’s Island to go check it out. For an extra splurge and celebrity status treatment go for the VIP tickets for access to the Tapis Rouge Vip tent, where my kids got free candy and I got an endless flow of Mimosa’s..now that’s how I like spend a rainy Spring Sunday!
